Professor Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Noraini binti Idris

President of National STEM Association Malaysia

Dear Students, Educators, and Parents,

It is my great pleasure to join the Ardent Edu family in celebrating another milestone this year. My warmest congratulations to the team on 14 wonderful years of organising these prestigious competitions, which have become one of Malaysia’s leading platforms for nurturing young talent in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

As Malaysia advances toward becoming a fully developed and competitive nation, STEM education plays an ever more vital role in equipping our students with the problem-solving skills, creativity, and resilience needed to thrive in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The Kangaroo Math, Kancil Science, and Beaver Computational Thinking competitions do more than test knowledge. They nurture critical thinking and a lifelong love of learning. Today, we celebrate every participant’s curiosity and determination, and warmly congratulate all 2026 award recipients on their outstanding achievement.

My heartfelt thanks to the Ardent Edu team, teachers, parents, and partners for your unwavering support in building a stronger STEM ecosystem for Malaysia’s future.

Thank you, and congratulations to all!

Introduction toArdent Educational Consultants Sdn Bhd

Ardent Educational Consultants Sdn. Bhd. (ArdentEdu), founded in 2007 by M. Suhaimi Ramly and M. Iznan Shamsuddin, is a leading educational advisory and consulting company in Malaysia. The company specialises in organising educational competitions and national Olympiad programmes that serve as pathways to international competitions, alongside a range of training programmes for students and teachers, including academic enrichment and professional development courses.

Since its establishment, ArdentEdu has worked with more than 3,500 schools and reached over 150,000 students across Malaysia, while proudly representing the nation at numerous international academic events. Among its flagship initiatives are three major national competitions: Kangaroo Math, Kancil Science, and Beaver Computational Thinking.

Through these competitions and enrichment programmes, ArdentEdu continues to champion excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education, building a culture of curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning among Malaysian students.

The Kangaroo Math Competition is one of the most popular mathematics contests in the world, founded by the Association Kangourou sans Frontières (AKSF) in Paris. Malaysia has hosted Kangaroo Math since 2013, with competition questions jointly prepared by participating countries. In 2026, the competition celebrated its 14th edition in Malaysia, attracting 114,191 students from 3,490 schools nationwide.

The Kancil Science Competition challenges primary, secondary, and pre-university students to apply their scientific knowledge through critical thinking, problem-solving, and inquiry-based learning. In 2026, the competition engaged 52,361 students from 2,232 schools. Kancil Science also collaborates closely with national partners to enrich science learning, offering students broader exposure to science, innovation, and discovery.

The Beaver Computational Thinking Competition introduces students to the fundamentals of computer science, logic, and problem-solving in an accessible online format. Part of the international Bebras initiative, Beaver promotes computer literacy and computational thinking in schools across Malaysia. In 2026, Beaver welcomed 9,324 students from 771 schools, strengthening early exposure to digital skills among young learners.

About Award Ceremony 2026

Every year, this ceremony feels like coming home to a big, proud family. The 14th Award Ceremony, organized by Ardent Educational Consultants Sdn. Bhd. (ArdentEdu), is a celebration of excellence, perseverance, and community spirit, bringing together gold medalists from all our competitions: Kangaroo Math, Kancil Science, and Beaver Computational Thinking. These young achievers carry with them countless late nights of practice, small victories at home, and the quiet encouragement of someone who believed in them. Today, we get to celebrate that journey together.

This year, we are especially proud to recognize 1,806 Kangaroo Math gold medalists, including 386 Grand Prix Award recipients who achieved a perfect score, alongside 578 Kancil Science gold medalists and 194 Beaver Computational Thinking gold medalists. Behind every number is a child who chose to keep trying, a parent who never stopped cheering them on, and a teacher who saw their potential before they saw it themselves.

This ceremony is more than an awards presentation, it is our way of saying thank you. Thank you to the students who challenged themselves to reach a little further. Thank you to the parents who stood beside them through every late-night revision and every setback. And thank you to the teachers whose quiet dedication continues to shape Malaysia’s growing STEM community.

The Award Ceremony 2026 is not only a moment to celebrate academic excellence, but also an open invitation, to students, educators, parents, and partners alike, to be part of a growing movement that values curiosity, resilience, and lifelong learning. We warmly welcome you to join us, as together, we hope to reach even more young minds across Malaysia.

This year, we are proud to honour outstanding contributions in three special categories.

The Ardent Star 2026 trophy

School Excellence Award

Teachers and schools that consistently inspire and encourage large numbers of students to take part in these competitions play a crucial role in nurturing their growth. Through their dedication, more students are given the opportunity to explore mathematics, science, and computational thinking, and to develop a deeper interest in these fields.

Tuition Centre Excellence Award

Beyond the classroom, tuition centres play a vital role in shaping how students engage with mathematics, science, and computational thinking. Their commitment to encouraging strong participation reflects a shared passion for nurturing young minds and opening doors to new academic pursuits.

Khalifah Academy stood out this year as the top-performing tuition centre, recording the highest participation among all tuition centres in both the Kangaroo Mathematics Competition, with 399 participants and 5 medals, and the Kancil Science Competition, with 404 participants and 38 medals.

Breakthrough Achievement Award

Some schools do more than take part, they transform. This award celebrates a school whose journey this year reflects extraordinary growth, proof of what is possible when curiosity and determination are nurtured.

From just 3 students participating last year, the school made a leap to 164 students this year in the Beaver Computational Thinking Competition, an increase of 5,366.7%. This extraordinary turnaround reflects the school’s determination to bring more students into the competition and shows what can happen when teachers and students embrace a new challenge together.
